  • 1.  next-hop: gateway-ip vs target-address

Hi, just looking through configuration in our 4.3.3 system and I notice next-hop sections in service routes have gateway-ip and target-address options. I couldn't find much detail on these, could someone clarify the intent of each and when to use one vs the other?

    Hi Shaun,

The gateway-ip lets you specify the next hop router to send the traffic to. This is useful if there is more than one router on the network segment, and you need to use a specific one to reach the destination. The target-address on the other hand instructs the 128T to perform a destination NAT to the value you specify before forwarding it.

Here's the link to the section in our documentation that describes each of the fields.

    I hope this helps!
